McDonald’s once poured big marketing dollars into its salads. But since 2020, greens have been off the menu. That’s because the chain has concluded that when people go to McDonald’s, they mostly want a burger and fries. “If people really want salads from McDonald’s we will gladly relaunch salads,” said Joe Erlinger, the president of McDonald’s USA, in a June interview at the Wall Street Journal’s annual Global Food Forum. “But what our experience has proven is that’s not what the consumer’s looking for from McDonald’s,” he added. “They’re looking for great french fries, they’re looking for a $5 meal…

Buying a home is more complex and expensive than it has been in many years. Interest rates and home prices are high, and inventory is just starting to slowly grow. To help eligible veterans and active-duty service members combat these barriers, the VA is adjusting some of its rules. If “Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement,” as C.S. Lewis suggested, my opportunities for achievement are many. Indeed, the only reason that I have an opportunity to share this insight with you today is that I failed at one person’s version of financial advising. Although very real, that person was a mythic amalgamation of Michael Scott, Steve Carell’s legendary manager character on The Office, and Alec Baldwin’s motivational speaker “from the home office” in Glengarry Glen Ross. He’d almost surely dispute the former parallel but take pride in the latter. He was the regional leader of a…

France was heading towards a hung parliament on Sunday and rocky talks to form a government after an unexpected leftwing victory thwarted Marine Le Pen’s efforts to bring the far right to power.Early projections by pollsters suggested a leftist coalition is on course to win the most seats in the high stakes snap election, a severe blow to Le Pen’s Rassemblement National party, which had seen a parliamentary majority within reach. The outcome, if confirmed, would represent a resounding success for the co-ordinated anti-RN strategy, under which the left and centre tactically withdrew their candidates from run-off ballots. But the result…

Overview Capstone Copper (OTCPK:CSCCF) is a copper mining company with almost all of its revenues coming from copper and very little production of other metals. This makes it rather unique in the market as a pure play copper producer. I covered the company earlier this year. That article can be found here. This is an Americas-focused company with producing operations in the U.S., Mexico, and Chile. Just over half of the production in 2024 is expected to come from Chile and that number is likely to increase further in the future. Figure 1 – Source: Capstone Presentation Capstone has over…
