Walgreens Boots, Amgen share gains contribute to Dow’s 100-point jump

Shares of Walgreens Boots and Amgen are trading higher Friday morning, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. The Dow DJIA is trading 106 points, or 0.3%, higher, as shares of Walgreens Boots WBA and Amgen AMGN have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Walgreens Boots’s shares have climbed $0.45 (1.7%) while those of Amgen are up $4.62, or 1.7%, combining for an approximately 33-point boost for the Dow. Intel INTC, 3M MMM, and Merck MRK are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
